Support Available for After-School and Holiday Clubs, Sports and Physical Activity
Ability Nottingham Inclusion Projec, a 3 year project funded by Reaching Communities Big Lottery aimed at young people with disabilities into engage in physical activity, sport and active recreation within Nottingham City. Details are now available to download.
Ability Nottingham is aimed at young people aged between 3 and 19 years who have a disability and live within Nottingham City, their parents/carers, wider members, local communities and other organisations.
Over the three years, Ability Nottingham aims to support 450 young people with disabilities to participate in regular sport/physical activity sessions.
This will be achieved by:
Increasing and developing new and existing opportunities across Nottingham City through Oak Field School and Sports College and the Nottingham City Leisure Centres
Providing information about community clubs, dedicated sports and other physical activities.
Providing support for young people with disabilities and their families through 1:1 or group sessions from trained Inclusion Support Buddies.
Improving physical and mental health contributing to a positive impact on quality of life.
